The Third Form
When an idea strikes, I'm liable to jot down notes to get them the hell out of my head. I'm rather compulsive about saving these notes, even when the significance therein has been completely lost to whatever state of mind and shorthand notation I was in at the moment.
I've accumulated all sorts of these scraps over time and once I had a place for them to live they've seemed to be coming out of the woodwork: I'm rather compulsive about saving my thoughts, even these half-baked ones.
Since this sections inception in Feb '03, I have used this as the new form of scratch-pad as well, retelling stories I told elsewhere but all wrong, splatting out other words as time permitted.
I generally dislike composing in front of the keyboard because I think it makes me lazy about my words. I type at about 80 words a minute and not having a delay between my brain and my writing medium tends to make me lazy. There's more than a handful of entries in here like that, but they also are spur-of-the-moment babbling that would be otherwise lost.
Hopefully the disparity between the two renders each into something reasonable...
